Sara Brzuszkiewicz is a researcher at al Mesbar Studies & Research Centre and a PhD student at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart (Milan).
Her PhD dissertation focuses on the processes of radicalization and de-radicalization of al-Gama’a al-Islamiya (the Islamic Group, IG) and al-Jihad al-Islamy (the Islamic Jihad, IJ) as opposed to the global project of Ayman al-Zawahiri.
She holds a Master Degree in Languages and Cultures for International Communication and Cooperation and a Bachelor Degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation.
She holds a Diploma in Emergencies and Humanitarian Intervention from Institute for International Political Studies of Milan (2014).
Sara writes for a number of journals investigating the jihadi threat, terrorism and counterterrorism, radicalization in the MENA region and the West.
